Comercial Mexicana

The first of the large, chain grocery stores in the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo area, Comercial Mexicana is a full-service store that sells everything from beer and potato chips to fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have an electronics section, housewares, clothes, baby supplies, automotive, plumbing/tools, toys, books and a pharmacy. Some of the products sold are Kirkland brand, which normally can be found at Costco.

just the facts, ma'am: Comercial Mexicana is open from 7am to 10pm daily. It is one of the few places to go in the afternoons that is totally air-conditioned. Sundays are family shopping days, so go with patience and a full stomach, because you won’t be getting out of there quickly.
