This is only partially true. Isahrai also hates wearing shoes.
And while we're on the subject of hate:
Isahrai hates cooked carrots and only mildly tolerates raw ones (but, ironically, loves the color orange).
Isahrai hates non-standards compliant browsers.
Isahrai hates when television shows give a preview of what's going to happen after the commerical break before the commerical break.
Isahrai hates grape popsicles.
Isahrai hates when people use text messaging slang (c u soon, l8tr, lol) in their email correspondence.
Isahrai hates global warming, genocide, complacency, and mayonnaise - but all of those should go without saying.
Okay, okay, this website is called we HEART zihua but one cannot HEART all the time. But when she is heart-ing instead of hating....
Isahrai hearts her work. As a freelance writer and designer, Isahrai is one of the lucky people who gets paid for her passions. She recently completed work on a novel and has written 7 plays, six of which have been produced by university or professional theater organizations. In an attempt to combine her activism with her vocation, Isahrai also works as a grant proposal coordinator, helping progressive and arts-based organizations secure grants and fellowships. Designing websites (including this one!) is an outlet for Isahrai. She always wanted to be an artist but lacked any of the required hand-eye coordination. Using HTML and CSS, with a little help from Photoshop CS for graphics work, Isahrai considers her design work "cyber-doodling" and is just giddy that people actually pay her to do it!
Isahrai is amazed at the twisty, turn-y path that brought her to Zihuatanejo from living in New York City. Here, she is able to indulge in her night owl schedule, her need to dance (badly) in public at least once a week, and her obsession with bright colors - turquoise bedroom, anyone? Singing jazz (and the occasional operatic recital), studying Spanish, eating orange popsicles, and photography round out her days and nights in Zihua. Working with Bev to create Grupo de las Poderosas - and we we heart zihua - has been a labor of love in itself. Because if you haven't noticed, Isahrai hearts Mexico... and being insanely busy.
